Long term protection?

Postby tt3 on Wed Oct 31, 2012 10:11 am

I need to mothball a number of long guns for my nephew until he is ready/old enough to take ownership of them.
I need suggestions to safely do that without ruining them. I don't make it out here more than every six months or so...
Help please.

Have you used this before? Does it need to be cleaned off like the crap mosins are packed in? It says thin film in the description, that's kind of what I'm looking for...

Buy a mosin nagant. Get all the cosmo off one and you should have enough for at least three guns. Turn around and sell it if you don't want it. Somebody will appreciate not having to burn through a roll of paper towels cleaning the thing.

There is nothing wrong with being thorough, but it has to make you laugh when you think of all the guns that had a little oil wiped on em and then they stood barrel up for decades. They get taken out and shot, no problems. Not saying that's what you should do, just find it humorous. Now, back on topic...
