Well I looked at every review possible, not mag reviews but peoples reviews. Also ran up to Gander and Cabela's.

Looked through as many optics as I could and I decided to go with the Aimpoint Pro after all.

Bought it at Midway USA for 375.00 shipped. Best deal I could find, most LGS wanted around $450 + tax.

I thought about putting a scope on this one but it's main use will be target/HD use. So I thought a quick to target red dot would be best.

I am open to getting another optic for use in competition if it would suit me better.

I know its a bit late but here are my 2 cents.

On my duty rifle I ran a Vortex Strikefire for several year with no issues. I used an Aimpont QRP mount and it held zero just fine.

I shot the Lucid version and was not a fan. It felt heavy and I did not like the exposed turrets.

I currently run a 1-4 variable with an illuminated reticle and love it.

If you're on a budget check out the Vortex stuff. What you lose in battery life to the Aimpoint you gain in warranty and customer service.
