Benelli supernova tactical 12ga.

Postby PHATSPEED7x on Wed Feb 13, 2013 4:02 pm

Sold my Kahr CW40 today, and picked up a new shotgun. Benelli supernova tactical 12ga. Local shop had it in stock. Was ordered for another customer who decided he didn't want it, and bought a different gun. Will post pics tonight.

Love the way this gun shoots. I ordered a magazine extension tube for it that should be here tomorrow I hope.

I liked my SuperNova Tactical a lot. I had the pistol grip version, and it was one of the most comfortable shotguns I have ever used. I also happened to fire a 3 1/2" magnum buckshot round through that shotgun, which was not fun.
The only thing I dislike about that shotgun is the action release button. I stabbed myself several times trying to manipulate it, and it used to hang up on clothing, etc and I was afraid I would bend/brake it.

Mesa Tactical makes a nice alloy SuperNova side saddle. It has an integrated Picatinny rail built into it too. I ran mine through several defensive shotgun courses and it worked very well. Great for supporting a select slug drill or emergency reloads, topping off, etc.

That is a pretty sweet shell carrier. I checked on Amazon, and a dealer on there has one left in stock... $150. Might have to save up for one. It looks pretty badass.

Check out Mesa's web site. I believe they've done a few adjustments on the side saddle to improve it. I've not visited their site in a while.

Good luck with yours.

Edit: I noticed your sight system is different than mine. I wasn't aware they had variations in the tactical model. Maybe Benelli changed things around? Mine came with a peep sight.

Great looking gun. Make sure to post any upgrades. I may need some ideas, that looks like fun.

You can also get a sidesaddle without the rail, it's much less expensive. I've got one on my "standard" Nova.

Local shop had standard Nova pump tacticals on sale for only $299. So I picked one up.

Same as the SuperNova minus the comfortech stock.

Do you think the stock justifies the price difference? Is it worth it?
Did you just buy that beautiful firearm, or are you trying to sell that piece of crap?

It's personal preference. The comfortech system is nice. But for me I shoot both well. I hooked into the SuperNova slightly used last year. If you can afford the SuperNova get it.
