Pre Ban Colt AR SER. CH 013895

pre ban Colt AR 15 Serial Number CH 013895, trying to put a value on this. Been in the safe for 6-7 years would like more info on the riffle before I post for sale. When I got the riffle it had and I still have A2 furniture. All I'm finding is ser. # beginning CH 0189 and lower is preban. This riffle is ‘SER. CH 013895’ and is pretty much mint. Also the receiver is stamped Colt Sporter Competition ----HBAR---- although it is clearly a flattop. I'm finding 1800-2400.00 does this seem accurate? Thoughts?

I want AR 10 or other riffle in 308, other than A bolt. This Colt is right on and shoots differnt than the other I've had. Cant put a finger on it but is differnt feeling action when you fire. Pretty cool.

It's worth nothing here or in any state that does not have some sort of AWB. Pre-Connecticut shooting and ensuing gun laws, I sold two pre-ban complete Colt lowers (one to NYS and another to CT) for $600 and 575 respectively. Not sure what the market is for them now or if they can be brought into those states. Once a state bans resale or transfer, they become priceless, and not in a good way. Check out AR15.com classified for current values and better insight than you'll get here..

Any weapon (not just Colt AR's) that was on the ban list, manufactured prior to September 13, 1994 is considered "pre-ban" and may be possessed in some ban states because they were grandfathered.

Why not just convert it to a 300 BLK? Or better yet, build a 300 BLK upper and have both.
