What would you buy for a .22 Bolt action

I picked up a CZ 452 Military Trainer last year, and it's been great. I did get the Williams peepsight as well. CZ was out of 'em, so I went right to Williams. They had them in stock. There is a choice of two apacheres: I believe the stock one is .500 and the other is .090. I started out with the .500 and ended up ordering the .090 a week later. Also, there's a locking screw on the side that they sell an optional thumb-screw so you don't have to use a screwdriver on it. I've dry fired mine a lot after finding out that it won't hurt 'em.

I always spend twice as much as I plan so the 64 would fall right in that 2x $500 range. Honestly I missed the budgetm and the 64 is still a practical rifle, where as some of their higher end stuff is cool but no exactly for the average 22 shooter.

Yeah, the 1827 is definitely cool. Pretty specialized though, do you do biathlon? If so, where at? I don't know of any local, but I'd love to check out one of those matches sometime if there are some around.

Maybe not for the average shooter, but if you get yourself something like a 19-series, you will be inspired to start shooting smallbore matches to become an above-average shooter!

The optional knobs you mention:

I assume you are not referring to the knurled target knobs, A while back I called Williams when I lost the original locking screws and spoke with someone there. I asked why they didn't have a tool-less locking screw; he told me they'd think about it. In a quick overview of the website and catalog I don't see them mentioned or pictured. Would you happen to be able to point them out, or have a part #?

ETA. I found using the smaller apertures improve my accuracy as well.
Midway has an assortment of sizes.

I'm not sure about the part number. Someone posted on the Rimfire Forum about 'em. I lost one of those regular screws myself last year.

The rifle was used, one mark on the stock. That's it. Owner said only a few clips threw her, I believe him. Gun will be scoped, thinking 4x16x40AO. Glad to hear about dry firing, already has a nice trigger pull. So far I have shot it at 10 yds, and you guys were correct. It is accurate.

There will be a range report in the future.

With a 40mm Adjustable Objective scope, you'll want some taller rings to clear the rear sight if needed.
I put a BSA sweet .22 with a (fat-- near 55mm outside dia.) 40mm AO on my Ultra-Lux just to show how it fits. There's a little gap.
The trainer and UL are pretty much the same rifle, but the UL has a 28in. barrel.

The rings pictured are BKL, in high form.
The rings were in my "Unusable junk Important stuff to keep" box for a couple years now. (Let me know if you want 'em)

The rear sight can be removed if desired. That might help with scope clearance issues.

Good point, but at my house that means the rear sight will wind up on The Island Of Misfit Toys, and Santa never brings it back.

Does anyone have any 5-10 round mags they are not going to use anymore for the CZ 452. Also looking for some medium height rings for the 11mm dovetail. I realize this could now be moved to Accessories, but since we have had a great discussion thought I would throw it out there.

I've become scared to post anything in the Marketplace.
Update yer post-- CZ 452 uses different magazines for different calibers.
Also, What rings? 1"? 30mm? or have ya got something else?

Dave at DK mags will be able to get magazines for you at a reasonable price.
That's where i ordered mine. (i might be the cheapest guy in the city.)

Caliber Is 22LR. 1" scope rings needed. Medium height.
