personally, i like the Magpul SGA stock (or whateverthehell it's called). function over form, right? as for the FORM, i think they look good AND feel good. haven't shot one yet though

I ahve yet to fondle one, but the SGA will eventually make it's way to that 870 I just redone. Since the pic I have added a +3 extension. now I gotta figure out a sling because the ATI extension just has a solid cap on the end

I had so much fun building the first one I thought I should build a Magpul slug gun. It also has an Eotech and Mesa Tactical rail.

Toofewguns, that is exactly what i was going to do. How is the felt recoil with that stock?
I shot my 870 with the mesa buffer tube and s&w stock and all i can say is OUCH! I am thinking about getting a limbsaver pad and filling the tube with shot weight to reduce the recoil. Of anyone else has another tip i am willing to listen

Which stock are you asking about, the Magpul or the Hogue? The Hogue is not bad but the gun weights a ton loaded. The Magpul Slug gun is much lighter but I haven't had it to the range. I am not that worried about the recoil, as I can either use 2 3/4 slugs for less thump or just buy the larger pad that Magpul sells. I really like that adding length of pull, larger pads or cheek risers are easy with the SGA stock.

This from the guy who got on my case for doing exactly this to a 870. Which do to his and lunchbox's prodding was returned to her wingmaster glory.

870 Marine Magnum with SureFire forend, MMC ghost ring tritium sights, pistol grip stock, and Vang Comp barrel modification. Different follower and safety button, too.

the stock has some sort of spring tension sytem in it. the first time I shot a 12 gauge I was about 8 years old. It hurt alot, I'm not sure I 'need' the fancy stock but it probably makes it alot more pleasant. plus I wouldn't have been able to get the wife to shoot it without it [and the plastic one would have had to been changed to wood for aesthetics so that would have cost almost half anyhow]. I considered the corncob forend but went with this one [anybody know the Official name for this style?].

Mine does pretty good cycling the aguila minis, which is fun because you can jam a bunch in there :)
