Fleet Farm Mosin 91/30

Postby MauserK98 on Wed Jun 19, 2013 10:10 am

Does anyone know or has anyone seen and Mosin 91/30's in stock at Fleet Farm? They had a few at Lakeville. I was told by staff the importer had 40,000. After this first run at FF I've not seen anymore. I have my share of Type 53's. BTW, Decosmoed (with my homemade oven), stocks cleaned refinished and looking really good. Fun shooters. But I'd like another 91\30 or two........

Thanks!

Remember what they were going for at BP? I was curious how much the run on guns had pushed the Mosins' retail up to.

I might have one in what I think is great shape for sale. I have too many Mosin's in the safe and I feel the need to diversify. PM me if you are interested.

i'm in the market for a mosin. IF anyone has a decent one for a 100 or less please make arrangements to trade me said mosin for cash.

FF Lakeville had a 91/30 behind glass for $119 yesterday afternoon when I was there. Didn't ask if they had more in back.

Was at the Fleet Farm in Chaska today and saw one 91/30 but it didn't look the greatest as it looked like it was missing the metal piece on the stock that the sling goes through.

Hmmmm. A "metal piece on the stock that the sling goes through"?

Is that like the shoulder thing that goes up? If it is, I don't think it should be legal to have one.

It sounds like the metal ring which is embedded in the stock where the leather "dog-collar" passes through.

Not all of the 91/30's will have metal reinforcement of the dog collar sling attachment points in the stock. Pre-war models were usually full metal embedded rings, followed by wartime production with just a metal insert at the bottom of the sling attachment slot ... and in some cases none at all when they were cranking them out as fast/cheaply as possible.
