My first and only is a DPMS lite 16. It has morphed over the years and looks nothing like it did when new. I shoot it at 3 gun matches, DMG matches... it's always been reliable and acurate. There are lots of choices and opinions out there. Just find one you can afford and remember you will more than likely make changes to it along the way. Good luck....

I have had a couple. My Spike's works great and is very reasonable. The Colt that I had was great. Either could be gotten in your range. I hear a lot of very good things about the M&Ps as well.

Looks good Rugershooter. Just a tip, you are probably going to want to get your scope mounted a lot farther forward to get proper eye relief and cheek weld. Where it is now will force your face to be very far back on the stock, which will make shooting awkward and will prevent you from getting a proper head position. It will also make sight acquisition very slow and needlessly difficult. Tip of your nose touching the charging handle is the way to shoot an AR. This method gives you a quick and repeatable physical reference point every time you pick up the rifle - set up your scope around your head position, not your head position around your scope. Some may argue that with some optics this is not possible, but I'd argue back that some of these optics are not suited for an AR anyways. At any rate, you will learn what you need to do with it as you get some experience.

Good luck,
Erik

I did move my scope further up. How ever for my comfortability and being a larger frame i can shoot well with that close to charge handle I'm most comfortable with stock all the way back.
