shell latch in 870

My 870 will not bring up the next shell after ejecting the spent shell. I have been told it could be the shell latches, and that is the cheapest fix. My other option is to fix and trade in. Its the 870 Magnum Wing master, made in 1971. Chambered for 2 3/4" & 3". Any ideas on the trade-in value? Or should I keep it?

For what you'd get for it, and for what you'd have to look at re: similar replacement 870's,(EXPRESS-YUK) or you just hate the thing, I'd fix it. and give it to your kids when you go, so they can give it to their kids. It'll last forever. Find a competent smith, can't be over $100 to fix it, and they truly "don't make em like that anymore".

Definitely keep it. or sell it to me those are the only two options I see.

If it is wingmaster in reasonably good shape it is worth fixing.

Fix it for sure. I know the 10 year old expresses are notably better then the ones they are making now

Worth keeping. Easy to work on and parts readily available. Could be a shell latch or a bad carrier dog spring...or old crud build up. First thing to do is clean the action and trigger group.
