They should have a street price of around 650 bucks, so they do have that going for them

Is the SR-556 not selling well for them?

I would guess considering they are up to about 7 models in 3 chambering's that they are very happy with their piston sales, probably want to do the same on the DI side now.

The SR556-762 are top notch AR platforms from what I have read and heard first hand. I also have one of the newer 582 series Mini-14s which I have been extremely happy with. The SRs are pricey, they're probably just adding a solid entry lever GI type AR for those loyal to Ruger wanting to get into an AR. To me it looks like a simple but very solid platform to build what you want.

It's about time, and complements the SR556.

The SR-556 has been doing very well. Ruger has a good operating system with their piston setup. The question is whether they will keep up their QC with the new AR.

This model is the first one Ruger has rolled out of their new Mayodan, NC factory. And they have spared no expense (just like Jurassic park).

After reading a few test reports I decided I would grab One,easier said than done nobody seemed to have one I checked with Kate at Arnzen and she said she might have one or two coming in and would drop me an e-mail when one was available,About a week later one came in so I went to check to give it a look. I don't know a ton about ARs but I liked what I saw,all metal fit and finish seemed fine and the Price was right so I grabbed it. I went on e-bay and Bought a Pre=owned Nikon Mount and a Nikon 223 3x scope,,Can't wait for the weather to warm up a bit and give it some range time
