My 450 is very accurate, and very lethal.
Hornady makes some very nice factory ammo.

That can't be found in an autoloader.

My suggestion would be 401 Winchester Self Loader as I could really use some brass... :D

Personally, I would go with the 50 Beowolf due to a Nordic heritage.

Go 50 Beowolf for short range serious knock down power, especially if you reload.

I am partial to the .458 SOCOM, have 2 and my brother as the .450 Bushmaster. He seems to have restrictions on what he can do with loads because the majority of the bullets out there are more for handgun velocities. That is what he says and the man seems to research things pretty well. The .458 SOCOM has a good selection of bullets out there that are produced for the 45-70 cartridge and similar. I like my .458 SOCOM, my brothers seems to like his .450 Bushmaster although he does mention some limitations on available bullets, can't comment on the .50 Beowolf. All I can say is that I researched all 3, settled on the .458 SOCOM and never regretted it, but another will probably say the same for their .450 or .50.

He never said auto loader. Just asked about 3 anemic rounds.

Yes, I was thinking of a step up for my AR. Looking for a light weight that will thump a wild Hog, or maybe a bear.

I have a Grendel so Beowolf would be my selection.

I currently have a short barrel 10.5 inch 308 that fits that bill. Got it here.... http://www.kakindustry.com/lr-308-parts ... e-7-62nato . Set it up as a pistol with a sig brace. Get one of these and load up with hornady 180 sst or interlock and your set to knock down almost anything. Could even try hornady new 220 gr ELD-X to blow a big friggin hole . But the 50 Beowolf will do it too. Just a bigger hole.

Killing a whitetail does not take a thumper. That does not make any of these three true thumpers. While it is cool to chamber an AR in other rounds, they really are not even equal to a .45-70 handload. If you want a thumper, buy a thumper.
