Looked at a couple, and then found an internet dealer that has them IN STOCK (at least yesterday, that is...) for $619!!! I gots a burnin' feelin' in my hip pocket!!! The guy also clued me in to the existence of the Leupold Mark AR Mod 1 3x-9x x 40 with Mil Dot sights for $349 at Cabela's. Compared to what I paid for a Leopold Mark IV Tac scope with illuminated reticle for nearly 4 times that price, that scope is one hell of a deal!!

Thanks, yeah, I know. Powder was impossible. Like all ammo.
And even though I don't have room for it (or the money), now is the time to do it. My wife always gives in when I'm persistent. But for some reason she's really worried about this. And it's not necessarily about the money. She thinks that our garage will suddenly become an ammunition factory and that the ATF, along with the FBI, SWAT and the local PD will be kicking down our door.

10K is more like a ~3 year supply in my experience, and I consider myself to be a fairly low-volume shooter. Of course, that's because USPSA and similar matches are the majority of my shooting, so I burn through what "normal" people would probably consider to be a lot of pistol ammo. (I'm sure the antis would be downright horrified.) Those who shoot 3-gun probably feel the same way about AR & shotgun ammo. If, on the other hand, you're just trying to stock up enough to go deer hunting "forever," then 10K might be overkill. It all depends on what your habits/needs are.
