Anyone shoot .308 in a Savage model 12 and have load recommendations for Berger 185s or ELD 208s or ELD 225s

Stock barrel? Mine has a 1:12 twist; a bit slow for those bullets.
When I shot my Savage in FTR, I used Fed GMM ammo/ 175s.

In my experience, a 12-twist will work fine for the 185’s, but you probably aren’t going to like the results with anything much heavier. The 185’s are great bullets though, so shoot out your first barrel with those and then replace with a 9 or 10 if you want to shoot heavier later. You can also get 155’s going well over 3000 FPS pretty easily out of 30” barrel, 3150 is even doable with the right powder choice. They won’t hang with the heavies in the wind, but they aren’t terrible.

I don’t shoot FTR, but I’ve shot a decent amount of .308.

*Edited to add: I guess you didn't actually say it was a 12-twist.

What is your twist? My savagae 110 FCP with 1:10 loves 200 ELD-X. Cloverleafs at 100 yards using RL-17.

1:10 Twist rate
Stock barrel but looking at trying a BRUX barrel if necessary
