I have been looking for years for a Siamese Mauser converted to a 45-70. They seem to be few and far between and when they do come up, they are a hack job, or have issues. I finally found one on GunBroker out of Montana. Holds 1 in the chamber and 3 in the magazine, functions/feed with no problem and a SAAMI rating on par with the Ruger #1.

Switching out the scope to a Leupold M8 4X fix power.

Nice! Those are supposed to be some of the stronger Mauser actions and should handle a lot of chamber pressure. Ruger #1 .45-70 loads are up there, this should handle it just fine.

I too was looking and had a chance to shoot one a while back. Shot well, but didn’t feed worth a damn. Apparently that’s a very. I’m in problem with the converted Siamese ones.

Yes, feeding can be a problem if not converted correctly. Mine feeds fine and there is a fix by adding a spacer/shim in the magwell.
