All done! My very first build. More fun than one guy should be allowed to have.

Took me 1 1/2 years to get this built, barrel should be in next week to finish it. Lot of barter went into getting the parts. DPMS lower and stock, slick side upper, Midwest industries handguard, delton BCG, charging handle, buffer....

Image

Finally finished! Now to wait 10 days for my hand to heal so I can shoot. 9 stitches in it right now.

Finished up my latest a couple weeks ago and thought I'd post a pic.

7.5" SS barrel, Wylde chamber, KX3, KAK buffer tube, SB-15, MBUS, AFG, Aimpoint PRO.
I fully intended to have cycling problems with this, and it did for the first 4 mags. I was going to try different buffers, add the O-ring, check the gas port size, etc... But after that 4th mag, the thing runs great! I'll admit that I've only got about 400 rounds through it, but after those first 4 mags, it runs great on steel and brass!

I'm a little disappointed though in the loudness and flame from it. I really thought it would be crazy obnoxious and it's not.
:(

It's still super fun though!

I likes that bent 7.5". Waiting on a Voodoo barrel so I can be un-neighborly too.

Meanwhile here are my current heaviest and lightest.

And even worse pic.

Evil Black Rifle photo thread

Postby gaberelli on Sun Jul 27, 2014 8:08 pm

Realized I didn't have a 5.56 anymore. Caught AR wildcat fever. So I built a KISS rifle. Pinned FSP and fixed rear and Insight WMLX light on it was obligatory as this is my only "tactical" AR. The rest look like the last picture.

I'll post my little buddy. KAK "McClane" 308. 10.5 inch barrel. Took it out past weekend for a full test. I put a Vortex strikefire II red dot on it.

Got the Gen3 Law folder yesterday. At first I was disappointed cuz it stretched the LOP too much for me and I can't live with not being able to quickly separate the upper. But I'm ecstatic how well it works on a Sig P556. That piggie is front heavy so is better balanced with the hinge. And best of all it can be fired folded. Methinks. Can a piston guy verify that it's okay to fire with the rear of the receiver open to the air?

The padded autoharp case holds the folded gun even with mag inserted. Front pouch holds 6-8 mags and larger rear pouch has backpack harness. $30 on Amazon.
