Also got the 50th Anniversary 10/22 to make into an Appleseed rifle. Tech-Sight and thought to get the Kidd trigger group instead of VQ because the rimfirecentral guys love Kidd triggers. Those with VQ, why did you choose it over Kidd?

I've had the VQ trigger, the Kidd drop-in, and the Kidd upgrade kit. I can't really tell the difference between the three....all three are truly excellent. If you have the polymer housing trigger, I think the Kidd upgrade kit is a fantastic deal and clearly the way to go IMHO.

I originally ordered the VQ because of its reputation. It's excellent, but it turns out that you pay a lot for that reputation when you compare it to the Kidd options.

$260 vs $190 vs $105

I just put a volquartsen hammer in one and a power custom hammer and sear in the other one and they both came down to a nice 2lbs., then put overtravel screws in the triggers and called it good.

That seemed right to me, too, and I appreciate your advice. Going the Kidd upgrade route.
