Permit to purchase Denial question

Postby Davedon on Thu May 27, 2010 8:34 pm

i was looking at building an AR-15 about 2-3 months ago so i put in an application for my permit. now i get a notification of denial saying something like this:

is denied because of "your need to provide proper documentation regarding date of birth. (current corrected driver's license. birth certificate)"

The DMV made a mistake on my drivers license or have been for years having my birth date off by a few days and i never really paid much attention to it (i don't own a car). so my question is can i just go down to the department and show them my birth certificate?
or when i get my license corrected will my receipt work or wait another few weeks for it to come in the mail?
or do i need both birth certificate and corrected license?

i entered in the date of birth that was on my divers license so i probably will need to put in another application anyways. seems like a real hassle...

go correct your drivers license and then go to the leo and show them you corrected it. All they are asking you to do.

Yup, its a correct the wrong data request. not common but straight forward. Only instance I know of was cleared up when proper documentation was shown.
