I would like to throw a wrench in to this discussion. guarantee of 1moa using 168GMM from the factory out of the box.

But, than again very few rifles costing $1000 will not shoot 1moa. Well, socom16 is one of them...

Sorry, but you confused me. are you saying the socom will or will not shoot 1moa? It sounds like it will not?

If you shoot the FNAR you would throw ur ar-10 in the trash.

M1a and socom are cool. I wish I had one or two. But, I believe AR10 variants and goofball nich rifles like FNARs have surpased them in every way except in looks. Before I bought my SXAR, I went through same search process. I had my heart set on a M1A. But, SXAR fit the bill. Reasonably priced 308 auto, which required no modifications to shoot accurately. And, I am told 1/2moa using dialed in ammo. But, I would still like a Springfield in my safe...

The AR variants will always be easier and cheaper to make shoot well and keep them shooting well than an M14 variant.
I will never apologize for being an American.

Thanks for the info. Sounds like an ar-10 variant is in my future.
