Nice looking rifle! What does 17 HMR ammo go for these days? I’ve always wanted one since the cartridge came out, but somehow never got one.

Maybe I need to fix that someday…

I didn't set out looking for a 17HMR, I just saw it on the shelf and after some wheeling and dealing it came home with me.

The Hornady Vmax that I bought with the rifle was 30¢ a round. Hornady's published ballistics on this round are impressive. 2550fps at the muzzle and 1406fps at 200yds with 8.5" of drop from 100.

This thing is getting expensive. I realized after I mounted the scope that my 22 cal cleaning rod won't fit down the bore.
I will never apologize for being an American.

Nope! Now you need that ultra thin .17 cleaning rod.

Had a half hour to sight in the new rifle before tonights gun club meeting. I was in the center in 3 shots. I had one FTF, but overall I like the little pip-squeak.

And the best part, it works with my Shotmarker.

Picked up a 16" Ruger SFAR. It's .308 that weighs 6.8lbs. Added a Primary Arms 1-8, Primary Arms mount, and a Holosun 507. Took it out yesterday and put 60 rounds through it. Liking it so far!

I bought the 20 inch version. Am impressed so far. Shooting 168 Amax reloads. 3 in a quarter at 100 yards. Ruger just released the 6.5 creedmoor version.

8208. Did put a heavy arse scope on it. Harken 4x16. Great glass but a heavy pig.

for sh!ts and giggles, I put a nightforce competition 12-42x56 scope on one of my ar-15's in 223 rem.

scope was bigger than rifle.

then went back to a less value 3-10x 50 scope.

my old ar-10 had military issue peep sights - my son with good eyes uses it now.

There's now a downloadable game called "Pimp My Gun", which allows you to combine almost any gun with any set of attachments. Funny!
