17.7" vs 18"? A marketing gimic or is their a functional reason?

Ballistic Advantage 17.7” Hanson profile, 3-gun barrel. Since it’s designed to be a lightweight competition barrel maybe the ounce or two made it lighter than the 18” alternatives. In other words I have no idea.

I guessing... it is what 450mm rounds to, in tenths of an inch.

Is it a foreign made barrel?

Added two in the last two months. Pistol is almost complete (needs a light). The rifle's glass is backordered and the can in up with the ATF.

Pistol is a Seekins lower I've had in the vault for 7 years; 8.5" PSA upper; built it as a truck gun.

The big boy is a Daniel Defense DD5v3. She's getting the Primary Arms Gold Series DMR HUD and a Dead Air can. I wanted to get the 18" V4, but after I saw the 16" V3, I was OK with the shorter barrel.

I'm going to add a QD brake to the pistol as well because 5.56 from a short barrel is freaking loud.

Nomad 30. I almost bought an Omega36, but when I went home to research it I found out that it has serious barrel restrictions that would have rendered it useless on the pistol.
