Its a Braced pistol. Almost all the benefits of a short rifle, with none of the BATFE hoop jumping. In Theroy.
Guess it depends on if you think a PDW can be in an intermediate cartridge and not just a pistol round or something exotic like 5.7x28 or 4.3HK

With all the stupidity going around I decided to put together a cheap lightweight carbine for a SHTF situation.

An ATI 16" barreled upper, MagPul BUS, an Anderson lower with a A2 butt stock.

Why A2?

Why A2?

Because i'm a big drink of water and it fits.
Because that's what I use on my Service Rifle and I'm used to it.
    Because it's simple.
Because I had a spare one laying around gathering dust.
Because it's stout. You never know when you might need to buttstroke some America hating commie.

All good reasons. Just not used to seeing carbines with an A2 stock these days.

I had it out to the range yesterday. If it didn't feel, handle and point as well as it does, I'd be looking for another option.

I've noticed those have been making resurgence is the last 5 years, especially on .308 builds.

I've never actually shouldered one, but I was also taught to shoot nose-to-charging-handle and the A2 stock doesn't lend itself to that. I'm getting away from that philosophy, though.

You would need a long nose for that. ;)

Why? I’ve shot a pretty good number of rounds through an A2-stocked AR, and every one of them (at least every one since I knew anything about shooting) was NTCH. I like to think I’ve got a fairly normal-ish length nose.

Unless you're small statured, the A2 will fit you.

Well that is awesome then.

I put an 1.5" A2 style spacer on my AR-10 to give proper length-of-pull of the A2 buttstock and to correct NTCH for us normal sized shooters - my son loves it also.
