My small experience is that they really shift POI as they heat up. This was on one of those Magnum Research 10-22's.

They are really light.

The CF barrels are interesting. For those not familiar, it's a thin steel bore with a built-up carbon fiber "body" structure on the outside. They're supposed to be very rigid, but also very light. They have not been all that popular due to high costs and lack of durability.

Volguartsen has them also and they hold POI well but are COSTLY like $290 for the 10/22 conversion.

My only experience with cf barrels was with a h&k shot gun. Borrowed a friend's a few years back to go pheasant hunting. I was nice and light. A dream to carry all day long. Flip side it was a shot gun so there is no real accuracy issues to speak of you either hit the bird or you don't, it more a shooter issue then the gun. I wish I could find seeing as how I need/want a new shot gun before I go out hunting again. Lord only knows when that'll be, the 870 20ga is too much fun trap shooting to replace that.

I have had a Volquarsten Carbon THM 17M2 bbl on one of my 10/22's for 7 years now, its POI does not change, its one of the nicest shooters I have.

I wouldn't judge anything based on the Magnum Research Rimfires, they were a junk design, my buddy had one, there is a reason they offered to buy them back from everyone.
