Try Guns magazine on-line the September issue. Up on ARs by Glen Zediker. He has an article about these. I'm not sure if you'll be able to view it right now, I can't access it currently.
I haven't tried any. He talks about the various systems.

I had a DPMS .22 upper a couple of years ago. It worked fine - was pretty reliable with most ammo and reasonably accurate. Extra mags were expensive and hard to find at the time. Great if you want to train/practice with a AR on the cheap. I didn't use mine a whole lot and ended up selling it to fund something else. Wouldn't mind having one again sometime.

It's a valuable accessory for conserving money, but it's not going to compair to a "real" .22lr rifle unless you swap out the barrel as well. Most ARs are 1/9 or 1/7 twist, but .22lr needs a much lower rate of twist to remain stable at distance.

It's still nice and fun to have though!
