After the gun show yesterday, we stopped in at the Hudson FF to see if they had any good Mosins. They had 8 back there that had been gone through but he said they had 4 that hadn't been opened yet so we told him to bring em out! The first one he brought out was a 34 Tula hex, and the second one was a 30 Izzy hex! The other two were nothing special.... We flipped a coin to decide who went home with what and I ended up with the Izhevsk. I was happy since it had better wood, I didn't have an Izhevsk hex yet, and I think... this one might also be an ex Dragoon!
The guy behind the counter said the last shipment they got in of 9, had 4 hexes in it! Wish I could have gotten a look at those!
This makes at least 7 hex receivers in the past 2 months at this store...that I know of.
It looks like a post war stock, and I think the last year of the ex Dragoons was 1930 IIRC correct? This one does have the spaces below the rear sight block against the barrel. Can any of you Mosin experts confirm if this is an ex Dragoon or not? I tried 7.62x54r.net, but am coming up empty.
