A couple little updates to the black (and tan) rifle...

Postby Inspiribomb on Sat Dec 15, 2012 10:57 am

Finally placed an order with Amazon that was LONG overdue. The updates are minor, but have made a noticeable improvement in the ergonomics of the gun, although I have yet to shoot it in this configuration. I added a Magpul ASAP plate and M2 sling, AFG, and CTR stock. No regrets on any of these pieces. As you would expect from Magpul, they are high quality and work well.

Still looking to add some sort of optic to it, as I'm currently running Troy flip-up/down BUIS. Thinking a red-dot sight of some sort...

Don't forget about low power scopes. A nice 1-4 or similar

very nice. if you want to REALLY trick it out, a Vortex Razor HD 1-6 would be AMAZING, it would cost you about the same as an EoTech with a FTS 3x Magnifier, and it'd be a MUCH higher level of amazingness ;)

The sling is great! I haven't used it in the field yet, but I like the single/dual point attachment changeover. Its comfortable and seems well-built.

$1400 for one of these things? Yeah that's not going to happen anytime soon. Awesome, yes. Not in the budget though.

yeah, very true. however, if you'd still like a low magnification optic, the Vortex PST 1-4 is MUCH cheaper (one that i've looked longingly at)
otherwise, the other Vortex offerings are pretty decent for the money. the Strikefire from Vortex can be had with a 3x multiplier for about the same price as an EoTech 522 alone
