200 yd at OGC

Postby photogpat on Fri Dec 21, 2012 6:45 am

I'm going to run out to OGC this morning and throw some .308 rounds downrange on the 200. Anyone interested in joining me? Send me a PM. Dress warmly!

Pat

Yeah, I ended up punting...no one was going to be at work today anyways, so I took the day off...figured my new Rem700 needs some distance work! Thermos of coffee, couple boxes of shells...

That'd be fun, but I'm headed the other direction to try to scare up some more powder and primers.

What a beautiful morning! Quiet, cold, empty!

I tried 4 different cartridges with the Rem700 today. 125gr OTM, 150gr FMJ, 168gr FGMM, 165gr BTSP....all Federal loads.

Turns out it likes the 165gr Sierra BTSP best! My best was a 2" group at the 200 once I got dialed in. I'm sure with more range time I could do better.

A great morning!

IF anyone needs Large Rifle Magnum primers, I have a few to sell or trade for Small Rifle or Small Pistol or Large pistol.

5000 or so.

With more range time you WILL do better. Nice rifle, looks like you had a good time....

Another posted off topic about looking for powder and PRIMERS.

308 is Large Rifle and can use LRMagnum primers if shooting ball powder in cold weather.
Manner of fact, in those conditions, they work better than standard Large Rifle primers.

Your Choice.

I totally would but I still haven't been accepted to OGC. Arg waiting sucks! I am still worried they lost my name on the waiting list!

You can always go as the guest of a member. I generally charge either breakfast, lunch or ammo, depending on the individual.
