Daniel Defense

It looks like Daniel Defense is taking orders for AR15's. It looks like they haven't increased prices, they don't give a lead time but thought I would pass it along. I'm a new member to the shooting community in Minnesota.

I made it in at 11pm last week and have one on order. I called and they told me 3-4 weeks.

Ambush has their version of the V7 in stock right now. It's in "real tree". https://ambushfirearms.com/shop/rifles/ ... -aptm.html

Good rifles, bad Customer Service. Outcome still pending...

Ordering has been basically down since this story came out. I've tried mornings, afternoons and even after midnight.

Ordered mine a month back from DD. Had gun in my hand 7 days later. Agreed bad customer service. But world class manufacturing and assembly.

Try at 2300 local time(midnight for them). I tried last night and got in. I didn't complete the process as the combination of their site, and/ or my laptop was running too slow. They quit taking orders before midnight, local time. Plus I'm not terribly interested in buying anything right now, but I may try again on a different computer, just to satisfy my curiosity
Apparently they take some orders every night.

Yep. Another member I know IRL ordered one at 11 maybe a week ago. Was quoted 3-4 week lead time. Same thing happened to him. Be on a fast computer with fast Internet and get the thing built and in your cart as soon as you can.

Just tried again tonight. Got in at 11pm local time. 2 minute response time went to 7-8 minutes by the 3rd step, then it appears the site crashed/ quit responding. Tried again at 1130, and they'd shut down by then...

That's pretty typical. Someone posted up on AR15 that DD said their site traffic goes through the roof at 11pm our time with all the people trying to do custom builds. The only trick I can offer is to keep multiple browsers open and when it times out start refreshing them all. That's what I did and eventually I was able to get through all the steps and add it to my cart. It took me about 2 minutes to make it to step 5 and that's where things started getting hairy. From there it took another 30 minutes or so of refreshing to finish the rests of the process.

Getting in wasn't the problem. I was successful on my 3rd refresh attempt after 1100; within a minute. But before I got the lower completed it was taking in excess of 5 min to progress to the next part selection. Then I got messages that the site had quit responding. Of the two nights I've tried their site, the second was the worse. I suspect it won't get better for a while. I am curious as to how many builds they accept for the day. If I really wanted to order a gun from them I might be a little anxious. As it was I was mostly entertaining myself with some hope of getting to order completion.

That's what's been happening to everyone. It seems most get stuck at the BCG selection. DD posted on their FB that they are continuing to take custom build orders each night but didn't say how many. Only that they only took orders for what they could build in a given work day as to not fall behind even more.

I placed my order on the 31st and I received an email from them today letting me know the parts are all in stock and it was being built. Pretty darn good given the state of things. All I can say is keep trying!

The cheapest you could make one would be around $1500
