Suggestion for AR lower with adjustable stock and cushion

Postby Tutmos on Mon Jun 30, 2008 4:03 pm

Just looking for suggestions from more experienced members on an AR15 lower with adjustable stock that has some method for absorbing some recoil from a .50. I don't want the added noise of a muzzle break so padded or shock absorbing stock would be ideal, although I want to use an adjustable stock. Thanks for any advice.

You might want to rethink the "adjustable" for a .50.......................... .....................$.02

you cannot shoot a .50bmg without a break. You will end up blind from detached retinas. I just got done sighting in 2 9.3x66 SAKO rifles and I will have to say no thanks to a .50bmg without a break(I shot a barret single shot on tuesday).

HammAR already said, rethink the adjustable stock for a .50. it'll likely break.

Question, .50 BMG or .50 Beowulf? If .50 BMG I agree with what the others have said, but if .50 Beowulf I guess an M4 stock might stand up to the recoil. You can get a rubber butt pad for the M4 stock inexpensively; I have one on my 5.56 M4gery, as a spacer, a recoil absorber is not necessary for that caliber.

This is for a beowulf round, not a BMG .50. Less energy.

A Magpul M93 or UBR should have no problem standing up to the recoil. Both have optional pads as well.
