My Polish underfolder AK47 Build

Postby 92RT-TT on Thu Jan 24, 2013 4:56 pm

Hey all,

Just thought I'd get a thread started on my build. I ordered my Polish underfolder kit from Whatacountry and today it finally came in. They were so backlogged it took about a month to get but its here and everything looks really nice. From what I can tell it looks like everything has never actually been used. The rear sight block is stamped 1987 but nothing shows any signs of use or wear so I'm happy I don't have an old worn out kit. All the furniture is in perfect shape too.

I ordered a Tapco G2 trigger group from another company but that hasn't come in yet and my Nitride treated US barrel hasn't come in either. Otherwise I've got an akbuilder rivet set, center support, and everything else I need.

One odd thing is there are a few "trigger" components from the polish kit and I really do not know what they are. I'm going to do some research but I almost wonder if they are full auto parts or something because every diagram I've seen of semi auto doesn't have those 4 parts parts...

I'll update as the build comes along :)

Yea, those trigger parts are for full auto. Save them for a rainy day.

BTW, you can cut the auto sear spring, and use it for a pin retainer.

Thanks guys, I did a quick search for full auto and found that out too. Definitely going to keep that stuff for a rainy day.

Thanks for the tip Scratch, I had been thinking about getting one of those metal plate type retainers though. Idk maybe I'll just cut this one down and call it a day.

Haha goda0301, yeah I've seen Red Dawn :)

The retainer plates are really nice. If you're ordering other stuff and have to chance to get one and save shipping, I'd do it. I use mostly the cut springs for mine but those retainer plates are much easier to remove and install.
