7.62x39 AR-15 choice?

Postby hammAR on Thu Jul 17, 2008 5:26 pm

I have a choice between two AR-15 16 inch AR barrels chambered in 7.62x39 and their bolts for sale. One is a a Dissipator and one is a carbine. The Dissipator is SS.

The barrels both have railed gas blocks and A2 flash hiders. I will need to put new gas tubes on them. They still have their complete delta rings.

A barrel and bolt together would normally retail for around $285.The price is $140 for each set shipped, $280 for both sets.
All men are created equal....It's what they do from there that matters!.

Unless you have a specific purpose for it, or plan on re-selling it, I'd skip it in that chamber. I had one a while ago, but I could never get it to feed consistently. The mag well is just not made for a round with those dimensions. I think C-Products are going to make some new mags now that might work better, but that remains to be seen.

Never been a big fan of the dissipator. I just don't like the way it looks.

The extra sight radius makes a big difference if you're shooting irons tho. If the gas block is just a rail top and you plan on putting optics on, it's kinda pointless.
