Rem 870 now with pics

Ok all, I drank the 870 kool aid and I'm promoting we start a 870 thread to show off our tacticool awesomeness. If you have another shotgun to show off and its not an 870 feel free!

The 870 bandwagon is becoming a pain. Mine is stuck in limbo, I am waiting on the nut from Nordic so I can switch the mag tube from my Benelli to the 870. I'm also sitting on backorder to get the breaching choke from Midway.

Once I get a "tactical" barrel to hack down I will post pics. Apparently you can't just stumble across used 870 barrels like I thought I would. I guess I have to actively look for one.

870 parts are like glock parts... hard to come by and not cheap during these times...

Thanks to a forum member, I got the tactical choke. Nordic has my mag tube nut too. Looks like the 870 bandwagon isn't all bad. I'll post pictures when soon.

As much as I love 870's, I'm enjoying this little tactical beast. I took a Savage Model 350 (Chinese but fit is surprisingly good) with ghost ring rear sights and a fiber optic front and added a leather sling, Streamlight PolyTac LED light, an Elzetta flashlight mount and a Milt Sparks Cold Comfort cheekpiece/shell holder. My wife took a look at it--I was quite the proud papa--and informed me I'd put pearls on a pig.

Isn't a tactical/HD shotgun supposed to be butt ugly?

Here are a two I have built up. The one with the plastic furniture I built about two years ago. It has a 21" smooth bore with rifle sights on it. There is a +3 extension with shell caddy and 4 shell speed feed stock. The wood furniture is rescued police issue gun I picked up at the last show at the State Fair Coliseum. The wood finish was shot so it got stripped and an oil and polyurethane finish. Replaced the barrel with a 18.5" Police barrel and a +2 extension.

Thanks for posting everyone. I am debating on doing a color change to a sand color as well. Also, I am thinking about going to the magpul stock and was wondering if anyone has an opinion on them. I am looking for a functionality opinion....not the fugliness opinion. :D
