Talk about a useless purchase.....

At least it has a happy switch. I let folks that take my class here in NW Minnesota shoot it if they wish.....and they usually have a tremendous smile on their face when done.

Reising SMG in 45 ACP ?

Meant as a cheap replacement during WWII for the Thompson - issued to the Marines - it is a nice piece of history - adequate shooter for us Civilians but as always there were complaints from the grunts using it as "It weren't no Thompson"

Neat Gun

Reising model 50 SMG.

It had a horrid reputation as a military gun...even to the point of troops in the Pacific Theater tossing them away for anything but that gun. As a range gun, kept clean etc., it has a decent following. It is probably the least expensive first step to the SMG world in Minnesota (where we are somewhat limited to C&R etc.)

Very soft shooting, very fast cycling. More than decently accurate.

Congrats Paul! Is the paperwork through and have it in hand?
I drove past today on my way to fargo and almost called to do some blasting, its a shame I didn't.

You should get approved to bring it to ND when you teach up here, I'd love to shoot that thing.

Are you sticking with the 12-round mags? If not, find yourself some of the 30-round mags made by Ken Christy. Expensive but worth it.

Thought the cyclic rate was only in 450 to 550 range, nothing like an MP5 or MAC11 etc.

It came with 2 @20 round and 6 of the Christy 30's. On the original 20's I have had a few last round issues; the 30's were all still in original wrappers...tight springs....worked perfectly.

You are correct. Published stats put it at 550. Compared to my finger rate, that was fast. Compared to what some others might do it is, by that comparison, a slower fellow.

Yes...paperwork took just about 8 weeks. Given that it is a C&R and I am a C&R holder, I do not need to get ATF approval to bring to ND (I cleared that to be sure with ATF and Cass County (ND) Sheriff).

Meet me in Erhard and we can test it. Although the last time you shot one of my guns................. :)

Very nice! I've been thinking of a full-auto C&R gun as well. How did you find it?
