SOTA arms 5.45 barrel - opionions needed

Postby Sigfan220 on Tue May 20, 2014 10:31 am

Does anybody have SOTA arms 5.45 barrel? If so how does it perform? The price is right but it looks like 5.45 barrels are prone to key holing due to various reasons. I'm not looking to shoot super groups with it, but I don't want bullets to key hole either. Sub 4 MOA would be nice.

Thanks in advance

What's the twist rate? The only reason it should keyhole is if your twist is too slow for the weight bullet you are shooting.

It looks like some companies use the wrong bore dia which can cause problems. It's more complicated than just the twist rate from what I gather.

Evan

What are you after a 5.45 AR barrel for?

Wasn't the importation of the cheap surplus 5.45 just banned?

Yes that's why I picked up 7 tins of the stuff. Plenty to burn out a barrel.
