The VTAC II is overpriced for what it offers. S&W makes the VTAC models the same as the Tactical series, in that they use the higher grade components. That said, S&W still doesn't use all milspec components. It's overpriced for what it offers, and I tend to believe that you're paying for the name.
A better investment would be a BCM RECCE-16 KMR. BCM is much higher quality than S&W.
http://www.gandrtactical.com/cgi-bin/commerce.cgi?preadd=action&key=750-780The Super-V is basically a single-stage SSA trigger that is sold exclusively to Viking Tactics. I like Geissele a lot, but I will tell you that you're not getting anything with that trigger that you're not getting with a less expensive SSA, or much much less expensive G2S (budget SSA variant). I have Geissele triggers in my rifles, and you really have to concentrate with slow and deliberate trigger pulls to notice the 2-stage design and run it as a 2-stage. Under rapid fire, it's smoother and faster than you would expect.
Also, the VTAC-II has the TRX VTAC rail, which uses the JP slot attachment design. This is a proprietary design that is really going nowhere. Keymod is the future of rails/handguards, and JP is not.
