I would not use a dremmel. Most use this Harbor Freight saw and there are several people out there who make jigs for it:

I looked into it but for the quantity I shoot it was easier to just buy a bag of ready to go brass.

Thanks for the info. Will look into a jig setup. Answered my own question on brass. Got confused when I saw 7.62 . Did some measurements myself comparing 5.56 and some 300 BO brass that came with upper. Got 200 pieces of 300 BO and 400 5.56 that came with the upper so will cut down the 5.56 brass. Lower and stock will be here next week so will shoot the ammo that came with it and maybe buy some until I get my dies etc to start reloading. Still not sure which bullets to reload with. Leaning toward 125 grain though.

Get a neck expander ball or your brass will be too tight.

Great links to plenty of info. Thanks
Magazine question. Any issues with 30 round mags with 300 BO?

Suspect the main difference is in the rib/lip where the shoulder would be on the 5.56 being either reduced in height or non-existent. I get the impression this mag is more for subsonic shooters with really heavy bullets.

I suspect the springs are much stronger. Normal pmags originally manufactured for 55 grain 556 operate perfectly. When attempting to push cartridges that weigh 4 times as much (220 gr subs) has been the real problem. On a full mag, the weight is cumulatively problematic.

Thanks to a ace75, who showed me a deal on armslist, I now have dies, mini cutter to convert 5.56 brass, primers, ammo and brass. Just waiting on my lower to come in. Still have to buy mags and decide on a scope.

If not already posted, check out this to see what brass works and what doesn't.

Thanks for the link. Will check it out. With the brass from the upper deal, plus the brass from the cutter deal, combined I have 300 BO original brass around 500 pieces. Plus another 500 5.56 to cut up. Should be good.

Got to shoot sunday to test it out. Found out my old eyes can't handle iron sights. Even at 50 yards I had issues. Ordered a Burris RT6 1-6x24. Anyways, shot up the loads I made with Hornady V-Max 110 gr just to get on paper. Chrono'd that group. Did not want to waste the Barnes 110's since these suckers cost to much. When my scope gets mounted, will go back out and try again. Like how lite the rifle is compared to my short barrel 308. Has anyone tried rifle powder to test? Just curious if the hottest rifle powder could work. May try 8208XBR some time down the road for giggles to see if it could work.

I'm jealous. I'm still building my 300blk pistol. Need to save my pennies and get parts one at a time. Then I'll need a chrono to help work up loads.

If we are close, maybe I can chrono them for you if you don't have one. My lab radar records good information out to 100 yards. Mine showed how much fps lost at 100 yards.

Here is some data from the 1st shooting with Hornady 110 V-Max.

19.6 gr 2346 fps (5 shot AVG) H110- 16 inch barrel
19.8 2338 fps
20.0 2350 fps
20.2 2349 fps
20.4 2344 fps

Got out yesterday to shoot the Barnes 110 Tac. My Burris RT-6 works great.

19.6 H110 2337 fps (Avg 5 shot)
19.8 2389 fps Best grouping
20.0 2405 fps
20.2 2439 fps
20.4 2450 fps

Also Bought a box of Hornady Black 110 V-Max to compare to my data.

Black 110 V-Max 2359 fps (Avg 5 shot)

Hornady book calls for 2.050 but the Black C.O.A.L. is 2.090 which grouped better than my reloads.
