The mag feed terribly and pushed the bullet all the way back into the casing till it stopped on the powder.
As I stated earlier in the post the pri and Barrett mags are the only good ones so far.

The blown primer has nothing to do with the mag. It can be related to high pressure, or bad headspace between the chamber and bolt. The other 2, I'm having some trouble seeing clearly, for some reason.

I'd bet a 100 million on it was caused by the mag. The cheap mag cause the round to get caught up trying to load.
Changed mags to the oem mag it all went away.

Sense this sight is sill in the stone age I can't post a good pic
one is a normal round
middle is a fail load and pushed the round into the casing
Last is the end result
It was 100% caused buy the cheap mag, don't believe me I guess buy a savage msr valkyrie and a 25$ mag off gunbroker. Sorry to just trying to help other people out.

I did not get all that from your first message thanks for explaining. Are those the American Eagle cartridges?

During a break, I approached the shooters using it; a couple of guys who worked for Federal testing a new cartridge.
I was a bit pressed for time, and more interested in the LabRadar than the particulars of cartridge, but from what I recall of the description it was probably the .224 Valkyrie.
I believe they were using a JP bolt action rifle at the time, shooting sub-minute groups at 1000.

JP has not made a bolt gun in 224 Valkyrie. You likely saw one of the side-charging uppers that they have. I have seen several online reviews and videos of the JP guns and velocity from early runs of ammo was measured between 2650 and 2700fps out of a 20" barrel from a gas gun.

You might be right,
I was short on time, wasn't on the line when they were firing the rifle, and more focused on the LabRadar, but given this was more than 8 months before Federal announced the round, I doubt any production rifle was offered at the time.

My FGM SMK 90's were delivered. I noticed on the box it says "Requires a 1:7 twist barrel". The rifle on the front looks a lot like my LaRue also, Tranquilo brake on it.

Was looking at the *bad* mag and I noticed its says 6.5 on the follower.
Got sent the wrong mag, got the right mag on the way now hopefully the one works works better. If not the factory mags will all I'll buy unless magpul makes a ar15 6.8 mag.

Saw that. Can't remember the range but assume its 100 yards. I gave up on 224 and going 6.5 grendel. I'll look back at it in a year or so to see how it has progressed.

Interested to see what you build for a Grendel.
