Guess it is picking up. I know the stuff at sportsman’s warehouse goes quick so if you do the notify me order as soon as you see it. It’s half MOA capable for under $0.70/round.

Hornady Match (both the older Amax's and the Blacks) and Hornady SST's both in 123gr have nearly the exact same POI out of my guns. Both shoot sub half MOA.

If you're not reloading, I would not worry about it. If you are reloading, and have a chronograph, keep an eye on the numbers. But I still wouldn't worry about it, not with a 12.5" barrel.

Anecdotally: certain barrels have a history of a velocity jump around 100 rounds. A quick search doesn't show that Faxon is one of those.

No idea, I suppose it depends on what “match” really means to the manufacturer. My LaRue came with a test target that was .497 and it’s shot as good or better since round 1.

Well the range trip didn’t turn out so good considering I have a match barrel. I shot last week at 50 yards to break in the barrel and was on target. Tried at 100 yards and couldn’t get on target so moved to 50 yards. My results:
Federal fusion 120 grain SP Avg 2314 fps ES 33.05 (Commercial to zero and use for comparison)
123 SST 27.3 8208XBR Avg 2230 fps ES 53.55 (5 shots for all reloads)
123 SST 27.9 8208XBR Avg 2254 fps ES 14.94
123 SST 27.9 8208XBR Avg 2267 fps ES 7.16
123 SST 28.02 8208XBR Avg 2292 fps ES 26.67
123 SST 28.5 8208XBR Avg 2323 fps ES 12.66
Hornady brass, CCI 400 primers. NO pressure signs. But the grouping at 50 yards just plain sucked. Had a couple shots touching each other but expected allot better for 50 yards. Going to order another brand of bullets to see how they do. So far am not pleased. Every rifle I have ever broke in and zero’d was done under 100 rounds and got better from there. Am reading other complaints with faxon barrels but longer barrels.

Well, the ELD-M did worst. Been in contact with sulzar firearms with all my data and pics of targets. They offered to have it sent back on their dime to take a look at it while I am laid up. Hope they figure it out. Never had such a poor shooting barrel like this one.

Yes you can have too much glass.

For what it is worth, 8208XBR has been some of the worst performing powder in my Grendel, albeit my barrel is nearly twice the length of your 12.5" so that is certainly apples and oranges.

Sent the upper back to get checked out while I had my back surgery. They tore it apart, inspected, put it back together and shot it. Said they didn’t find anything wrong and sent me pics of good groupings. Just got it back. I ordered some commercial ammo with 120 grain nosler. Not sure when the surgeon will clear me to go shooting again. Hoping by July. Until then, just healing up.

New to the 6.5 world. What’s some recommendations on glass for hunting and mid range stuff?
