Winchester 94 32 Spec. Rate of Twist? Issues with it?

I picked up a cheap model 94 (1966 I think) that's in 32 Win Special. I was looking for a 35 Rem but beggars can't be choosers. In looking into this cartridge, I read on Wikipedia that the slower 1:16 twist rate wears faster and hence accuracy is reduced. Any truth to this? Just how many rounds would it take to wear out the rifling?! (I doubt this is a fast burning prowler round!)

If you manage to burn out a .32 win barrel you had a very fun life.

H&H, I had to laugh, because I figured as much,.....just thought the Wikipedia line was odd.
I'll try my best to burn out that barrel based on your post!

The rate of twist should be 1:16". Some individual barrels may be slightly faster, some a little slower as the machines used for rifling barrels would need occasional adjustment.
Some of the reports of "burned out" barrels are the result of the early corrosive primers and the rather harsh burning of the early powders. Poor cleaning practices exacerbated the wear process. It is a not uncommon problem with firearms up to almost WWII.
