This is how I felt when I got the $150 CMC trigger with some nice creep in it...

If the gun is cycling properly, the hammer should be resetting.

From what you've described, it sounds like the disconnector isn't engaging properly. Make sure it's not binding in the trigger, and make sure the disconnector spring is in properly.
