My 50BMG target rifle has a 38" SS K&P cut-rifled barrel - it looks long compared to the 29" stock barrel.
Some of the ELR shooters are using 42" barrels and most manufacturers have up to 45" as the maximum length available.
The barrel in this picture looks long because of the added suppressor length.

That is one long bullet:
20mm ammo.jpg
That projectile looks long as in a long bearing surface.
My Match style cartridges are also long. Case body is 3.905" long, Projectile is 2.699" long, Driving band is 0.150" long, Boattail is 0.375" long, Driving band diameter is 0.5105", Bore-rider diameter is 0.502", Barrel bore diameter is 0.498", Barrel groove diameter is 0.510", Distance off lands is 0.030", Projectile is seated into case body about 0.160", Bore-rider diameter sets into special cut lands of 0.5030" diameter of chamber/throat, Y.M.M.V.
2.699 - 0.375 - 0.150 = 2.174" Case length 3.905 + exposed projectile length 2.174 = 6.079" - 0.010" seating depth variation = 6.069" actual cartridge length as compared to the military standard for this cartridge being 5.450"
Please note I don't like to use the term "BULLET" as its definition has been abused by so many as to make determination of actual use seem to be the total cartridge assembly, and to some, as myself and other hand-loaders, the projectile which is loaded into the cartridge assembly.
