Greasy?! now every time I pick up the thing I'll be thinking..g-r-e-a-s-y :? ..and it never even occured to me til now! At any rate, I've seen you're website..you do very nice work. As I mentioned the front strap has no serrations..I prefer having them. If I get it machined...I'll look you up. If I don't, I'm going to hide the front of the grip with one of those extra greasy wrap-arounds shown on the Colt in the first post....now, this all stainless (silver) pistol really deserves grey or black wood grips if I have the work done...I don't believe I saw any like that on your site.

Wilson mags are the gold standard for 1911s. I've also heard good things about the Kimber Pro mags. Nighthawk has introduced a line of mags. I bet that they are pretty good as well.

Thanks JoeH...I've read the Pro Mags are a big improvement over the standard Kimbers.

I bought some. They are pretty nice, but I still prefer Kimber's "Pro-Tac" magazines for all around reliability and durability. Kimber's follower is styled a lot like the ACT magazines, but it is finished with Teflon.

However, there is certainly nothing to dislike about the Nighthawk mags.
