Well, when I went out to buy one, I bought a High Standard Field King Supermatic that was older than I was. Not rare, but not cheap. Reasons?
•It looked just like the one my dad had when I was growing up! :)
•Every one I've shot ran well.
•Accurate.
•The easiest .22 pistol to field strip and clean, ever!

This one point that I do not care for on the Browning Buckmark. I think Browning could have done something besides the current method removing the screws from the sight base to disassemble the Buckmark.

I've found my Buckmark runs best by just blowing the crap out with an air hose and using Hornady OneShot Drylube/cleaner.

Another thumbs up for the Ruger MKII/MKIII or 22/45. Really nice guns. I have one that's been punished with nearly 25,000 rounds and she's still going!

I plan on getting a Ruger Mark III pretty soon, but does anyone have experience with the Taurus .22LR revolvers? I saw a used Taurus tracker in .22LR at Gander Mountain for $299 this morning and it looked very appealing. I love wheelguns, so having one in .22 would be super nice.

I have an older taurus 94 that works great and is fairly accurate for a cheap 4" .22, I'd buy another, the only problem I've had with it was when I first got it the former owner never cleaned it and in missfired a few times, one very thorough cleaner later and no problems since

I've got a Taurus 94, blued, 5". It's not the tracker so it doesn't have the large lug under the barrel. I enjoy shooting it. Accurate enough as well. The pull is heavy but smooth on DA, and obviously better on SA. I haven't gotten around to trying to lighten the pull, but I understand that such may be done via spring work. Rear adjustable target sight screw needed some blue loctite to keep it tight, but other than that, it's been a fun and perfect gun for plinking. I paid $200 for it in used by LNIB condition about two years ago.

I have an AMT Lightning, which is essentially an improved copy of the Ruger Mark II. I understand that they are no longer made as a result of a lawsuit of some kind between Ruger and AMT. I've probably put 10,000 rounds through it or more, and shot more than a few rabbits, and I recommend the AMT and the Ruger upon which it is based highly for hunting.

They do jam about once every 500 rounds but that's true of pretty much any .22 auto. The case geometry doesn't lend itself to reliable feeding.

Ciener's conversion kits have a bad reputation(at least for their 1911 conversion kits), and horrible customer service.
Pay a little extra and get an advantage arms conversion kit if you go that route.
