Hello,
I've applied for a Permit to Purchase almost a month ago at a Saint Paul Police department and still haven't gotten an approval.
I've returned a few times and asked them what's taking them so long, and they just keep telling me that they are waiting for a background check from the BCA (Bureau of Criminal Apprehension) then they'll mail my permit out. I don't see why I wouldn't pass a background check. I am in the MN Army National Guard and hold a pretty high Federal security clearance already. Meaning I've pass a fairly extensive background check, so a simple gun permit background check shouldn't be an issue. I also have no criminal record of any kind, otherwise I wouldn't have security clearance.
Thanks ahead of time for anyone who can clarify why it's taking so long.
