....that is assuming that your home state is Minnesoda........I don't know the rules for the other 47 states......

The MODS should have a post in the Reference section to address the steps recommended - but they don't.......
however IF you look in the Reference section there is a Bill of Sale form......from it you should derive that in personal F2F sales that you would want to see a valid ID (MN) as well as either a Permit to Purchase or a Permit to Carry. While the BOS form in the Reference section does not have space for recording such details, I would at a minimum include for both the following info as well as the verbiage from the Reference BOS form:
Date:_________________________
Buyer: _____________________________
Address:____________________________
City/State:____________________________
Phone #: ____________________________
DL #: ____________________________
Buyer DOB: _____________________________
Permit Type: P2P______ P2C _______
Permit #: ____________________________
Seller: ______________________________
Address: ____________________________
City/State:____________________________
Phone #: ____________________________
DL #: ____________________________
Permit Type: P2P______ P2C _______
Permit #: ____________________________
Weapon Type: Rifle ___ Shotgun _____ Handgun ______
Make:______________________________
Model:______________________________
Serial #: ____________________________
Caliber:______________________________
Description:___________________________
someone will come along and cite the MN law for you ...................
