How do I fix this?

Postby Ymmit07 on Fri Apr 23, 2010 12:59 pm

Hey guys/gals i need some help. As i was looking over my gun a this morning i notice that my rear sight it screwed up. Now i haven't dropped it or anything i may have bumped it slightly but by no means hard enough to cause hit i don't think. I know most are just gonna say replace it with a new Night sights and i would love too but it just not in the budget yet. i am just looking for a fix to this.

Buy a 1911.

I kid, I kid. I'm pretty sure that most places that sell glocks might have a sight tool, and someone on staff that can competently use it. My guess is that the service would be cheap as free. The only problem I see is that if it was knoched out of place so easily to begin with, it may be a recurring problem. I would guess that others on the board will have a quick easy, more permanent solution than just setting the sight back in place though.

I don't have my Armorer price list infront of me, but I think a new rear sight is about $5... (Mr Vroooom should be by shortly with a correct number)

Although a little locktite, or even clear nail polish should hold it in place if you get it recentered.

Maybe I should have finished my reply with: "Trust me, I'm an Armorer." to instill confidence... :gun:

Again, right up there with "Here, hold my beer and watch this!" :P

ETA My above statement was simply in jest. I guarantee that Gunshop guy would do a fantastic job on this and other repairs. Hell, I'd even trust him with MY Glock!

Just aim 2 feet left of your intended target and you should be good to go.

If you're in the SW metro, give me a shout. I have a Glock sight tool & I'd be glad to help you.
If you're near Stillwater, I can bring it to the show with me this weekend. Just let me know.
Call, don't pm, as I probably won't get on the computer til Sunday night.

Being that it's a Glock, you might want to shoot it from a rest before making adjustments. POA might match POI the way it is.
