First 1911 - revisited...

Postby revluke on Thu May 27, 2010 11:35 pm

Well, after scouring the internet for a few weeks and many trips to the range to establish a wantlist, I stumbled across this setup and pulled the trigger...
Been twice to the range thus far and am in love...
Dan Wesson PM-9 in 9mm with 6 Wilson Combat mags, mag well, and ambi safety. Barely used, the thing is pretty mint. Probably overkill for my first 1911, but I won't be tempted to upgrade for a few years I hope.

Sweet sweet pistol. Nice choice.

Let us know how it shoots.

Where did you find a DW? I have been trying to find one in 45 for a year or more.

Found this one online from a trusted source. I didn't get a bargain on it, but I was willing to pay for what I wanted... There are a few Dan Wessons on Gunbroker at the moment.

Excellent choice and a drop dead gorgeous gun. Congrats to you and twinges of jealousy to me.

Nice! Nothing like a shiny new gun to brighten your day!

While we're talking about new guns, I too finally acquired an shiny new 1911.
It's not a DW, but it should knock down those pesky poppers in the man v man a little quicker.

IMHO you can't go wrong with a DW. I got a Sportsman and it is my first 1911. It has very rapidly become one of my favorites!

You will like it more and more as time goes on! Nice piece!
