It depends on the type of firearm of course, but I shoot single shots most. So I clean those barrels only when accuracy starts to fall off. The actions if needed due to shooting in dusty or dirty conditions.

I agree... It's almost like raising a child.. There's pride in taking care of it.

Cleaning guns is very rewarding-----------------raising a child is like being pecked to death by a chicken.  You're just in the very early stages of child-rearing-----------give it another 12 years. :P :P Don't get me wrong, I love my girls more than life itself. Yours are just too young to KNOW EVERYTHING yet. :D

:exactly:

It's almost like therapy. And if I hold the bottle of Hoppe's No. 9 under my nose too long, it's almost like... like... um, I forget.

I think i need a couple of aspirin.

That's why I do it.

That and because the voices in my head tell me to.

You must not have kids.
If I had time, I'd probably clean em more.

I actually clean 22s when they stop functioning. I clean bolt-guns after every session (cuz there ain't much to it). I clean handguns when they start to look gunky or the action feels "wierd". I clean my AKs when we get rained on at the range.
I got nothin'
