Beretta M86 Cheetah

Postby Rip Van Winkle on Sat Dec 08, 2007 6:05 pm

#1 son and I went to the St. Paul gunshow this morning. #1 has decided he wants to get his carry permit and I thought this would be a good place to look at a bunch of different models for him. Try as I might I couldn't get him interested in a 1911 variant but he did find a Beretta M86 Cheetah he took a liking to.

Other than it being rather underpowered (380ACP) is there any reason to avoid one if these?

Any comments good or bad about them?
I will never apologize for being an American.

I have a 86 in .22....the .380 was there that day too, but I did not have the cash to get them both or I would have! :) It is a great little gun and works everytime...I have a friend with the 380 and he really likes it.

They are the class of the 380 pistols. the 84 and 86 lines stretch back to the late teens in the model 1919, They are superb pistols, although firing a weaker round than some might want.

I had a Browning labeled version for years, and wish I had never sold it.
