"poor college student" does not equal 5.7 caliber owner.

1. Ammunition is fairly expensive (However, prices have come down quite a bit for now)
2. They are not useful for anything (I have owned both Five-Seven and the PS90 for many years.....so I know).
3. When I bought these they were cheap.......then the price skyrocketed for some reason. I sold both because I made profit on both.
4. Factory magazines are expensive. However, I have not used the 5.7 upper mags sold by some AR upper manufacturer in this caliber. Also, when I bought mine, I could only get 30rd mags.....so I had to get 50rd conversion kit.

One advantage I know about these guns is very low recoil. I can unload PS90....all 50 rounds.....in 3 inch groups at 25 feet very fast. That is even with the horrible trigger of bull-pub design.

For Five-Seven, there really is no advantage. It is very large to carry. Capacity is claimed to be an advantage, but other full size guns now offer high capacity magazines that fit. Mild recoil is nice, but then 9mm recoil really isn't that bad.

+1 on the glock 19
cheap to shoot
simple to operate/maintain
get a slip on hogue grip for it and your are set

cheap .45 is still quite a bit more than 9mm.

Glock 19.

It's the best gun out there. By far. Bar none. Nothing even comes close. This isn't opinion. It's a FACT.

I guess I have a preference for a .45 but the only issue is ammo prices. I have a friend who has 19 acres in rural WI that I've gone shooting at before, but not somewhere I would like to go for a permanent shooting location. Anyone know of a pistol range or something of the sort near Duluth? Also I'm still looking for a carry class of some sort in Duluth. I'm not sure how long the carry classes take or whatnot either, so if its short I can make a trip down to the cities to do it, but unfortunately school is out mid may, and then i start Calc I and Calc II over summer "vacation" as well as working my overnight job, so my summer is pretty much stuck in Duluth.

I'd have the money for everything over the summer but I'm worried about not finding a carry class I can attend in Duluth

Im a highschool student but I rake in the dough with lawn service job, so Im not a poor student anymore. However, when I was a poor student I got a used glock 19, which is what I suggest you get.
Shooting better than you since 1995.

I kind'a have my heart set on the 5" XD .45 or 9mm now. but we'll see if I can find a good deal on one. If anyone has one used / like-new they are looking to get rid of PM me with a price. I know this isn't the correct forum for this but I figure I might as well keep all my thoughts in one thread.

The issue with that is, John's in Savage, and Catalhoyuk (I'm not even going to try to put those fancy-assed thingys on the C, o, and y) is in Duluth. Grated, C could make a weekend run down to the cities, but chances are what he saves on the price of the gun, he'd be spending in gas. Better off just to find a local FFL, and go through them. Checking galleryofguns.com, it appears there's a couple of them within 25 miles of Duluth.

Of course, he can always check with Thunderjohn, and get an idea on the price....

Oh it's easy. Shift-Option-C for Ç, Option-U then O for ö, Option-U then U for ü. Oh unless you're not on a Mac, then god only knows, copy and paste I guess.
