Jgalt were was I knocking the 1911? If you read my last few posts I made it clear I like the 1911. I also mentioned that I realize the pro's and cons of a 1911.

It is obvious you like to resort to making labels on people since you cannot provide anything of value to this thread.

Bud, you have not presented any relevant or pertinent facts other than what others have said, people that you deem the experts, not that you are an expert or even have any experience in the real world, you seem to live vicariously and in fantasy thorough dependency on others, thus you remain a parrot....

I'm off to have another Margarita and a cigar, you want one or would you prefer a cracker....

I repeatedly have said I don't have the experience that the experts have. There are very few that have the credentials and the experience of lAV.

I have owned a few 1911 so I base my comments on what I have experienced. It also is similar to what some highly regarded people in the industry have said. I presented some facts in my earlier post. Your comment about living through others in a fantasy land is pretty funny. It shows how out of touch your are when all the discussion has been about a topic of reliability on an Internet forum.

I find it amusing that your responses continue not to have anything relevant about this disagreement on this topic. Since this is the case I will stop trying to urge you to state your side. Seems like you could be the one to use that cracker.

You mean the posts made after my response? I guess I should have realized you were going to say you "like the 1911" before you actually did so. My fault - I apologize...

So, you want me to read & respond to posts which have not yet been made, while you ignore the what I have already clearly stated? That "a 1911" as such doesn't actually exist? Try making your comparisons to a specific make & model of 1911-style firearm - like I did - then the conversation might go somewhere...

Here is your fact asswipe: "when Hk or Glock has been on the battle field as long, wide, and reliably as the GI 1911"
short of that you have nothing (read facts) to back up your blathering other than someone elses opinion.....
and yes, I would like a cracker with some pickled parrot in whine sauce........... :hammer:

TL;DR for this thread:

"My preferred guns is better!"

"No, MY preferred gun is better!"

Jgalt what are you talking about? What do you mean about making a post about liking 1911 after your response?

Correction you mean the post I made before your response that you missed. Go to page 6 or before and read were I said I liked 1911 a couple of times and that I have had some in the past. I have said that from the beggining. I think you missed that point since you are bringing it up a couple pages later and saying that I said it just now. I think a good question to yourself would be why would it matter if I said I liked 1911 after your post like you originally though. Who cares.

Honestly I skipped over your post concerning specific models because it was irrelevant because the topic had switched and GI 1911 were being brought up.

Like I have said before if you like 1911s, shoot them better and prefer them, then that is great! No one is saying the 1911 platform is not awesome. No one is saying that 1911s are not reliable. The topic was are they as reliable as some of the current polymer service pistols. I stated my opinion and brought up the fact that some highly regard experts and professionals have the same opinion. 1911s take more maintenance then the two examples I brought up. Again if you like running a 1911, great.

I knew this thread would get like this due to the topic, but It is always fun.

We are talking about Reliability. To me that means being able to trust a piece with your life when it is the last option and has to work. Ammunition and Caliber have nothing to do with this as I see it.

The 1911 is a fine platofrm if you have one that works well. I have not been so lucky with them. I have had very bad luck with the 1911. Lots of others have a different opinion. There is a misconception afoot here that pruport that all guns that they happen to like are 100% reliable or better than someone elses choices.

It is in our nature as men to have a dick measuring contest...

Anyone care to debate the mechanical reliability of a revolver? nuff said..... I have never had a weapon related malfunction in any of my Glocks, or Smiths (Autos and Revolvers) - They seem to work for me, and if there is a malfunction, there are mechanical and tactile reasons that I like the Glock - it sort of tells you whats wrong pretty clearly - if there is a problem.

/pissing contest.

Since this thread has LONG outlived any usefulness, and this discussion only comes up about once a week, this is where this one ends.
If you're reading this, there are better than even odds you are a d-bag.
